South of Vaison-la-Romaine on the 20th May there is a mountain bike excursion meandering through the vineyards plus some gourmet stops along the way with the various wine growers. After all this exercise and wine tasting the excursion ends with a friendly rustic meal on a wine estate. Gingondas wine has been famous since Roman times but only more recently became well known and valued when it became part of the Côtes du Rhône classification. It is often termed the poor man’s Chateauneuf du Pâpe but you can make up your own mind if you join this excursion.
