Properties In The Golden Triangle

At Healey Fox we have concentrated our selection of properties in what we believe to be the loveliest part of Pays de la Loire and Centre covering the area known as the golden triangle – Le Mans, Angers and Tours and extending eastwards to Blois and south to Loche. This way we are able to offer a choice of wonderful chateaux through to simple country cottages and large and small town houses.

Pays de la Loire

Mention the Loire and most of us think about magnificent chateaux situated along the famous river. Often referred to as the Valley of the Kings, the historical wealth of the region cannot be in doubt when you gaze at these beautiful and extravagent buildings. But this part of central France is not only about chateaux. It is also known as Le Jardin de la France and there are beautiful cottages nestling in pretty countryside, farmhouses in the vineyards, orchards and vegetable gardens and everything in abundance.

Tourists and property buyers alike are drawn to this area of France for its rivers, its rolling hills, vineyards, historical buildings, mediaeval towns and villages and its climate. The area is commonly recognised as the dividing line between the climate of Northern Europe and that of the South. It enjoys mild winters, early springs, warm summers and late autumns.

The Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is a UNESCO world heritage site and the Loire river is the longest river in all of France. It is not only long but also extremely wide as it makes it way through the river plain to the sea offering good fishing, wonderful cycle trails and many stop offs at attractive riverside villages and towns.

It is no wonder that this is the most visited part of France but it doesn’t only attract tourists and second home buyers, there are also many people choosing to make their permanent homes here from all over the world. From being the playground of kings from medieval times to the 17th century it has now become the playground of those looking for a really special quality of life amidst beautiful buildings, lovely countryside and in a very pleasant climate. From the vibrant town of Tours, to Amboise with its Da Vinci connection, to the little medieval village of Loche, to Blois with its picturesque Renaissance chateau and Le Mans with its famous racing there is something for everyone in this area.

Despite all the amazing tourist attractions in the area, you can still find peace and quiet in the countryside and enjoy the rolling scenery, woods, lakes and many small rivers away from the more popular River Loire. It is also an area well provided for in hospitals, schools and shopping centres and with good air and TGV connections via Tours. In fact it is an area where living is very easy! But should the days get stressful, you are never far away from a superb vineyard with world famous wines such as Vouvray, Chinon and Saumur.

With so much on offer it is not surprising that this is not the cheapest part of France in which to buy but it is possible to get a simple village house or cottage from €150,000 with a good selection of larger cottages at around €250,000. Such properties will not be as close to the Loire valley as some of the more expensive homes but wherever you are In this part of France you are somewhere special. If you have €500,000 to spend then there is a large selection of character properties some with pools, gites, land etc. Those with more to spend can start to look at a selection of chateaux ranging from €750,000 to €3,500,000.
